Part of Xu's practice is motivated by researching the relationship between time, body and trauma.She have often attracted herself to modest materials such as paper, fabric, threads and everyday household items, which she feels related to "women's work" or simply to women themselves. These are often exquisite meditations about the body and spirituality, which contain and transmit subtle, but also disturbing feelings. The connections between visual perception, the subconscious and emotional mediation are the core of my work.
