Ying Xu's work are femine and inclusive, soft yet sharp.Trained as a professional oil painter, Xu has become increasingly attracted to the simplicity and the beauty of ephemeral things. She collects modest objects around her life and from nature, transform them into someting provocative. Much of her recent work utilizes the processes of drawing, watercolor painting, mending and sculpturing to explore ideas around connection and interconnection from body and space; mind and experience; individual and collective; temporality and eternity, make the invisible visible.
Lives and works in Feuerthalen, Switzerland. Board member of the Vebikus Kunsthalle, Schaffhausen, Switzerland. She holds a BFA from CAFA Central Academy of Fine Arts after graduated from Fine Arts School Affiliated to CAFA in Peking, China. She has been lecturer in Shenzhen Art School for 13 years before moved to Switzerland. Through the years she has held numerous exhibitions both in China, Switzerland and abroad.
